The 2018 World Junior Championships are right around the corner. Countries are starting to pick their teams. 15 forwards, eight defencemen and three goaltenders were named to the Sweden Selection Camp Roster for the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships today.  The 26-man camp roster will eventually need to be whittled down to a 23-man final roster, likely 13 forwards, seven defenceman and three goaltenders.

Highlighting the selections on the blue line are potential first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Timothy Liljegren, and Vegas Golden Knights prospect Erik Brannstrom. The team will likely have Filip Gustavsson, a Pittsburgh Penguins prospect, in goal. Upfront the team will feature Vancouver Canucks prospect Elias Pettersson, Buffalo Sabres prospect Marcus Davidsson, and New York Rangers draftee Lias Andersson. The Swedish team brass is still waiting to hear from the Sabres as the availability of Alexander Nylander.

Sweden plays their first game of the tournament on December 26th, when they face Belarus.
