Last Word on Habs Pod: Montreal Canadiens Draft Spectacular

This week on the Last Word on Habs pod, Connor and Johannes come out of playoff hibernation to offer their listeners a double-sized episode! They discuss the Alex Galchenyuk trade, the NHL playoffs and some free agency talk. The bulk of the conversation centers around the NHL draft.

The Habs hold five picks int he first two rounds. Connor and Johannes discuss what Marc Bergevin might do with all that collateral. How does the acquisition of Max Domi change the Habs draft plans? Will they trade the third overall pick?

Joining Johannes and Connor this week is Patrik Bexell to go into European prospects to keep an eye on in the draft. Lyle Richardson also joins the pod to discuss draft rumours and free agent news.

  1. Hey guys as Montreal fan gotta disagree with you about picking a winger, a much bigger and much more long standing hole in Habs line-up is center. Centers drive play and you can’t win a cup without good players at center. I love Z, but for the above reason i would definitely would take K, from what i have heard he plays center when he plays against players his own age, just for the liiga has he been playing wing, and that could just because his team is stacked at center, i don’t know. And he plays 200 ft game, he plays D, which was the reason the Habs did not play Chucky at center, his lack of D, so no worries there. Sure the Habs can ask K Liiga team to get him into more time at center.
