  1. I agree Islanders won’t be good next year and the contract length for the new signings is ridiculous. But Barzal, Lee, Bailey, Eberle, Beuvillier, leddy, and Pullock are all good players. The top 2 lines will be fine. One thing missed in this podcast is that one of the Islanders biggest problems over the years has been their inability to properly develop their prospects. I think that some of these “4th line” signings were made with that in mind. A few will be on the islanders and others will be shuttled back and forth to AHL with no risk of losing them to waivers. They have the cap space to do that. Along with some “AHL all-star” signings in Bridgeport that werent mentioned, the Sound Tigers figure to be a very good team. Culture change at both levels and winning AHL championships may be the plan to develop their young players and be good in 3 years. Not saying these are great moves or that it will work but regardless of Lou’s faults he still probably knows more about running a team than me and you so there has to be a plan and I think that is the plan. Hopefully it pays off in a few years. We’ll see.
