While it was not clear exactly when he was injured, Ferland only had 12:37 of ice time in Carolina’s 2-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. He did not practice today because of his concussion. Ferland is currently in concussion protocol. There is no definite timetable for his return.

So far this season, Ferland has scored 11 goals and four assists for 15 points in 24 games to go along with 13 minutes in penalties. He leads the Hurricanes in goals this season. Ferland’s possession stats are 55.5 percent Corsi-For and a -2.9 relative Corsi.

He has averaged 13:04 of ice time per game in his career. He played four seasons in Calgary before he was traded to Carolina during the off-season with Dougie Hamilton and Adam Fox for Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm.
