Lightning JT Miller Placed on Injured Reserve
Miller sustained the injury during Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He left the game in the second period and did not return.
The move to the injured reserve is retroactive to Thursday, December 27th. With the move, Miller won’t be eligible to return to the line up until January 5th against the San Jose Sharks.
In 38 games this season, Miller has recorded seven goals and added 19 assists.
Over his career, Miller has recorded 89 goals and 127 assists for 216 points in 398 games between the Rangers and Lightning.
Miller was originally drafted by the Rangers in the first round, 15th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
J.T. Miller Out, Mathieu Joseph In
Losing Miller is a tough pill to swallow for the Lightning. However, the Lightning are a team privileged with enough depth to overcome such an injury.
Although they received bad news on the Miller front, they got good news on forward Mathieu Joseph.
Joseph returned to the line up in the Lightning’s 6-5 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night. Joseph failed to register a point in the game.
He is enjoying a decent start to his NHL career as the rookie has scored nine goals and added 4 assists in 33 games. He currently sits tied for 13th in rookie scoring this season.
The Lightning’s next game will be on Monday night when they will travel to Anaheim to face the Ducks at the Honda Center.
