The Jersey Joe Corner Podcast is finally back in the swing of things. Jersey Joe Stanislau and Jim Biringer from are back with another exciting episode as they joined by Chris Wassel of Dobber Prospects and Full Press Coverage. In addition, Chris works as a Fantasy Hockey expert as well as doing some scouting for the NHL. The boys’ focus is on the New Jersey Devils, as they look the general manager position, coaching, and so much more. All they take a trip down memory lane with some great stories along with other sports talk.

After a humorous story by Chris to begin the show, Joe and Jim dive right into the New Jersey Devils. Joe asks Chris about Mike Gillis and Judd Brackett and if he could see those two coming to the organization. After that Jim breaks down interim general manager Tom Fitzgerald‘s resume, he asks Chris about why he deserves the permanent position. In addition, Chris breaks down the coaching candidates in Peter Laviolette and Gerard Gallant and why he thinks Gallant will be a better fit than Laviolette. In addition, the boys look at the New Jersey Devils prospects and how they are finally getting back to drafting and developing.

Return To Play

Jim transitions the show into the topic of the day which is the NHL’s Return To Play plan. They discuss the latest announcement by the NHL to move to Phase 2 by Monday, June 8th. In addition, they break down the format announced by the NHL. How the play-in round will be best of five while the actual Stanley Cup Playoffs will be best of seven. With re-seeding happening after every round. They also discuss when this might take place with things heading towards late July.

Level Playing Field

The boys then look at the teams that have a chance to make noise in the first round of the playoffs as they look at the betting lines from the various sportsbooks. Also, Chris gives injury updates on players who were hurt before the break. In addition, each gives a prediction on which player they could see leading scoring after the play-in round.

NHL Draft

Joe asks Chris for his mock draft looking at the first top picks in the 2020 NHL Draft. Chris also tells the listeners there could be some surprises when the draft actually happens.

In addition to all these fun topics, the boys tell some great stories from past seasons involving the New Jersey Devils.
